Free CE: FDA’s Role in Public Health: Drug Efficacy, Safety, Quality, and Beyond

FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research is announcing an updated online continuing education (CE) course titled “FDA’s Role in Public Health: Drug Efficacy, Safety, Quality, and Beyond.”  The course provides an overview of the FDA drug regulatory process and the science that supports the FDA mission. It includes topics such as:

  • New drug development and assessment
  • Regulation of nonprescription drugs, generic drugs and biosimilars
  • Drug safety, communications, and promotion
  • Drug quality, quality management and drug shortages
  • FDA’s role in emergency preparedness and response
  • International engagement
  • Patient engagement, cross agency engagement, and advertising

This course is geared towards educating health care professionals as it provides 1.5 hours of CE credit to physicians, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, nurses, nurse practitioners and physician assistants. However, it is a broad overview that is useful for a variety of FDA stakeholders.
