Committees

Membership

The Membership Committee is chaired by a WDCPhA Director-at-Large, and is responsible  for planning, developing and implementing membership recruitment and retention activities for all membership categories.

Professional and Government Affairs

The  Professional and Government Affairs Committee is chaired by a WDCPhA Director-at-Large and is responsible for identifying topics and issues relevant to the pharmacy profession in the District of Columbia and nationally and bringing relevant information and action items to the WDCPhA  membership. This committee provides up-to-date information from the DC Board of Pharmacy, other professional pharmacy organizations, the Federal and DC government, and other health care organizations.

Education and Programs

The Education and Programs Committee is chaired by a WDCPhA Director-at-Large and is responsible for educational programs of interest to the WDCPhA membership, including programs for continuing education credits. This Committee is also responsible for identifying programs that may serve various patient populations and communities, as well as programs that may be performed to benefit pharmacy students and technicians ( e.g., mentoring programs; certification or NAPLEX preparation workshops).

Technology and Communications

The Technology and Communications Committee is chaired by the Secretary and is responsible for the collaborative development and distribution of all messages to the WDCPhA membership and the broad pharmacy community in the District of Columbia. This Committee also helps with the maintenance of the WDCPhA website and social media sites.

Finance

The Finance Committee consists of the WDCPhA Treasurer, President, Vice President and Executive Director, and is responsible for the management ,recordkeeping  and reporting of the WDCPhA financial matters. This Committee is chaired by the WDCPhA Treasurer.

Awards

The Awards Committee is chaired by the WDCPhA Vice President and is responsible for identifying potential recipients for the association awards, and managing the selection process for the final awards recipients. This committee is also responsible for obtaining the awards items, and conducting the presentation of awards at the appropriate events.

The WDCPhA President and Executive Director are ex officio members of all Committees, as needed.
